Directions
The Carers Centre provides a range of support and activities for adult carers living in or caring for someone who lives in Brighton & Hove. This includes 1:1 casework (emotional support/information/advocacy/individual grant fundraising), several monthly local coffee mornings in different parts of the city, a monthly stroke carers group, regular activities specifically for male carers, some specific activities for BME and LGBT carers, free legal surgeries every 2 months, access to a limited number of free counselling spaces each month, occasional Time4Me events, workshops on a range of relevant issues, and specialist end of life and bereavement support (both individual and group activities). We also run weekly sessions for carers and former carers at the Carers Garden (allotment project) and Listening Lunches for carers of someone with a learning disability.
Our Young Carers Project provides casework support for young carers aged 6-25 and a range of activities and support, including art and sports-based activities as well as groups that promote self-esteem and confidence building.
